John Amos, who led “Good Occasions” as patriarch James Evans, has died … his son Kelly Christopher Amos introduced.
Per John’s son, the Emmy-nominated actor died in Los Angeles again on Aug. 21 of pure causes.
He continued … “It’s with heartfelt unhappiness that I share with you that my father has transitioned. He was a person with the kindest coronary heart and a coronary heart of gold… and he was beloved the world over. Many followers take into account him their TV father. He lived a great life. His legacy will stay on in his excellent works in tv and movie as an actor.”
Along with his work in “Good Occasions,” John was recognized for taking part in Gordy the Weatherman on “The Mary Tyler Moore Present” and for portraying older Kunta Kinte on “Roots.” Followers of
“The West Wing” may also acknowledge John for his recurring function as Admiral Percy Fitzwallace.
He was 84.
