A person has died after he was discovered unconscious in the midst of a road following a suspected hit and run.
Tasmanian Detective Inspector David Gill stated the person in his 50s was discovered unconscious on Swanston Avenue within the northern Hobart suburb of New City at about 2.50am on Friday.
The person had suffered ‘important accidents to his torso and neck space’.
He was rushed to the Royal Hobart Hospital the place he underwent emergency surgical procedure however he couldn’t be saved.
Police imagine the person was struck by a 4WD.
