London’s iconic Somerset Home is on fireplace – with 10 fireplace engines and 70 firefighters on the scene as smoke pours from its roof.
Video shared on social media confirmed darkish smoke pouring from the constructing’s western edge alongside Waterloo Bridge.
The London Fireplace Brigade mentioned dozens of firefighters have been on the scene.
It mentioned in a press release: ‘Ten fireplace engines and round 70 firefighters have been deployed to a fireplace at Somerset Home.
‘Two of the Brigade’s 32m ladders have been despatched to the scene to help firefighting operations. Site visitors within the surrounding space shall be impacted as crews reply.
‘The Brigade’s Management Officers have taken over ten calls reporting the hearth, with the primary acquired at 1159. Crews from Soho, Dowgate, Islington and surrounding fireplace stations are attending the scene.
‘The reason for the hearth shouldn’t be but recognized.’
