Comic Clayton English is thanking Tyler Perry for placing a brighter highlight on his racial profiling lawsuit … and says his run-in with airport cops has him considering some Black cops completely discriminate towards Black residents.
The comedic actor filed swimsuit towards the Clayton County Police Division — together with fellow comic Eric André — for separate incidents of alleged racial profiling they skilled at Atlanta’s Harstfield-Jackson Airport.
English says he was strolling down the jet bridge to board a flight — having already gone by way of safety and getting his ticket scanned — when officers stopped him and hit him with a barrage of questions.
Clayton says he remembers the incident so vividly due to the officers’ races — a tall Asian man and a brief Black man … a scenario English jokingly refers to as a “reverse ‘Rush Hour.'” Shout out to Jackie Chan and Chris Rock.
They requested to go looking his bag, and Clayton complied … and though he was not arrested, Clayton says the interplay left him fully confused.
Later, when he noticed Eric posting about his personal encounter, he reached out — and, they determined to do one thing about it — therefore the lawsuit.
When requested if he discovered it stunning a Black officer profiled him in such a approach, Clayton says he wasn’t — he advised some cops are hardwired for prejudice, claiming they’re “extra blue than Black.”
That stated, Clayton would not know if it was simply racial profiling … including he thinks the cops have been actually on the lookout for wealthy vacationers from whom they may seize money in a civil asset forfeiture.
